This update aims to enhance safety and security within the EU by requiring comprehensive pre-arrival customs data. Additionally, in January 2025, similar safety and security measures will be implemented for goods traveling from Europe into the UK, marking a new era of streamlined, yet stringent customs processes.

What’s changing?
To comply with ICS2 regulations, you need complete and accurate information from all customers before trailers can be delivered to terminals. This includes:

• Package types
• HS Codes
• Consignor – Full address + EORI
• Consignee – Full address + EORI
• Transport Payment Methods
• Place of acceptance (UNLocode or place + Country Code)
• Place of delivery (UNLocode or place + Country Code)
• UN numbers (For Hazardous content)
• Buyer – Full address + EORI
• Seller – Full address + EORI

While much of this information may already exist in your records, ICS2 mandates that every HS code requires individual entry, complete with all relevant details. This creates a substantial administrative burden, impacting your daily operations.
